Federica Mogherini

Federica Mogherini ( born June 16, 1973 in Rome) is an Italian politician of the Partito Democratico. Since 22 February 2014, it is Foreign Minister of Italy.

Life

Mogherini studied at the University La Sapienza in Rome and Aix -en- Provence political science. Her political career began in 1996 with the membership of the youth organization of the Left Democrats, in their national governing bodies, she worked from 2001 and eventually became responsible for foreign affairs and thereby took care among other things, relations with the U.S. Democrats. In February 2009, she was responsible in the party leadership of the Partito Democratico ( successor of the Left Democrats ) for equality, in December 2013 for European policy.

In 2008 she moved to the Democratic Party in the Italian Chamber of Deputies, where the committees she worked for Foreign and Defense, re-elected in 2013. On 1 August 2013, it took over the Presidency of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

On February 22, 2014 Federica Mogherini was appointed to the Italian Foreign Minister.
