Federico Tedeschini

Federico Cardinal Tedeschini ( born October 12, 1873 in Antrodoco, Rieti Province, Italy, † November 2, 1959 in Rome ) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Federico Tedeschini received his philosophical and theological education in Rieti and Rome. He received on 25 July 1896, the sacrament of Holy Orders, and then worked for five years as a lecturer in the Department of Canonical theology at the Seminary of Rieti. In 1903 he was papal secret chamberlain, 1908 House Prelate of His Holiness. From 1908 to 1914, he knew various tasks in the Vatican Secretariat of State.

On March 31, 1921 Pope Benedict XV appointed him. Titular Archbishop of Naupactus and Apostolic Nuncio in Spain. He received his episcopal consecration, the Pope on 5 May of the same year. Pope Pius XI. appointed him a cardinal in 1933 pectore the publication as cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Maria della Vittoria took place on 16 December 1935. Cardinal Giuseppe D' Annibale was his uncle.
