Fedora Barbieri
Fedora Barbieri ( born June 4, 1920 in Trieste, † March 4, 2003 in Florence) was an Italian opera singer in the vocal range mezzo- soprano.
Her debut was in 1940 in Florence as Fidalma in Cimarosa's Il Matrimonio Segreto Domenico. She interrupted the career of 1943 for her marriage and began again in 1945. Barbieri was heard up to her stage farewell in 1969 at La Scala, but also in London, Vienna and New York.
She belonged to the ensemble of the Metropolitan Opera from 1950 to 1954 and 1956. From 1955 to 1958 Barbieri belonged to the ensemble of the festival of Verona. In 1987 she joined the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago Giuseppe Taddei beside still as Zita in " Gianni Schicchi " on. Even after her stage farewell she took on even more to 1990 records.
