Feinmechanisches Museum Fellenbergmühle

The Precision Museum fur Bergmühle mainly shows the separation serving machinery manufacturing technology. The essential feature of the museum is the preservation of the productive operation at the time of its setting. As industrial history snapshot, the exhibition concept differs from the commonly used chronological. The operation is authentic comprehensible for the visitors after its 1997 restoration took place from the power supply to the performance of the machines.

History

The precision mechanical operation in Merzig was founded in 1927 by Johann Peter Hartfuß. He directed the operation in a mill, in the above- grain and oil was ground. The original mill was built in 1767 by Romanus Siegele and Mathias Gusenburger on Seffersbach. The fast-flowing stream powered up to 32 mills. The precision mechanical operation of machines and tools for watchmakers put forth. The water power was first used by water wheel. The increase in efficiency was carried out in 1929 by installing a Francis turbine. You could also drive to the manufacturing machines by transmission a DC generator. One of the most successful in-house developments of operation was developed and patented in 1931 wedding ring engraving Cardan with which could label wedding rings using templates.
