Feis

A Feis (pronounced " Fäsch ", plural " Feisanna " ) is an event or competition in dance and other disciplines.

Components are sweeps in the disciplines of dance (especially Irish Dance ), the mastery of various musical instruments, singing, mastery of the Gaelic language and manual skills. The disciplines have their background in the tradition and history of Ireland.

These events or competitions are now held in Ireland and many other countries in Europe or USA.

Feisanna which are discharged as Championship, called the Oireachtas.
