The Steinbach drained almost half of the watershed of Schmerbachs, while all other tributaries listed here second order of hydrologically rather minor importance.

Natural areas

The bordered in red sandstone valley of Felda is of particular importance for the natural spatial structure of the Kuppenrhön and the north and east subsequent salt Unger Werra mountain country.

The Middle Feldatal of Kaltensundheim to the crossing of the Baier- Pless - threshold at Urnshausen hard shrinkage below Dermbachs is a natural spatial unit of the front and Kuppenrhön and separates up to 751 m high front Rhön in the east of the to 757 m high Auersberger Kuppenrhön in the West.

The Lower Feldatal to Dorndorf is the opposite, a sub - space nature of the whole standing on red sandstone city Lengsfelder hill country.

Energy

Traditionally Felda is used for energy production. Defense system with the currently used water turbines are, inter alia, in Dermbach, Weilar, Dietlas and Dorndorf. As part of a pilot project for the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive in the years 2004-2008 unused by the Free State of Thuringia back weirs constructed (for example in Stadtlengsfeld ) or ecologically consistent design (eg in Weilar and Dorndorf ).
