Feldbach (Haut-Rhin)

Field Stream is a commune with 469 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Altkirch, for Canton Hirsingue and community association Canton Hirsingue.

Geography

The municipality is located in the field Bach Sundgau twelve kilometers south of Altkirch and about 30 kilometers west of Basel.

The five -square-kilometer area of ​​the municipality includes part of the eponymous field creek valley. The field creek empties into Hirsingue in the Ill. The municipal area is mainly agricultural, forest share is below 20 %. The small pond south-west of the village center, of which the Grand Etang reached five acres belong to the lakes region of southwestern Sundgau between Ill, Largue and Suarcine.

Field Stream is the southern starting point of the Roman road of Alsace ( Route Romane d' Alsace).
