Feldberger Haussee

The Feldberg Haussee is a eutrophic lake in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District in the east of Mecklenburg.

Location

The lake is located in the Natural Park Feldberg Lakes in the municipality of the same north-east of the main town of Feldberg.

Formation

The Feldberg Haussee arose during the Weichsel glaciation. It is embedded as glacial Zungenbeckensee in a terminal moraine.

Structure

The lake has an approximate length of 1.91 kilometers and an approximate width of 860 meters and an average depth of about five meters. It is divided into three basins, the northern basin with a maximum depth of 12 meters with the island grave Werder and love the island, the city basin with a maximum depth of 9 meters and the small private lake with a maximum depth of 10 meters, by the Peninsula Office Werder is separated from the city pool. On the islands in the North Basin once chalk was mined. The southernmost part of the Little House lake is referred to as dairy bay, since 1888, a dairy co-operative was founded in Feldberg.

Load

The lake was heavily eutrophicated by the introduction of urban wastewater and by the wastewater from the dairy. This situation changed only in 1980 by the construction of a ring drains, through the later connection of Feldberg to the sewage system and biomanipulation (use of predators ), between 1985 and 1999. The lake is drained by the widths Luzin after the water lilies channel for Narrow Luzin because was interrupted to strong eutrophication.

Use

East of the Little House lake are various private waterfront properties, to the dairy bay a small garden, not their rich gardens to the river. At the southern third of the official Werder peninsula there are also private water plots at the Little house lake and at the city pool. On the remaining two-thirds of the Official Werder is located on the Little Haussee a floating stage, which is mainly used for national and international water ski events. At the North ( North Basin ) and on the southwestern shore ( city basin ) of the northern Official Werder is one bathing place. Likewise, there are several sports facilities.

The western part of the official Werder joins the center of Feldberg, located on the city pool. Here, private waterfront properties also find the hotel but right on the lake and a public boat landing. Northwest of the city park also follows with a public boat landing. Followed by private land, a specialist clinic and in turn private land to hostel. To the northeast towards the island of love is the Feldberg hut and the seat of the water ski clubs Luzin Feldberg (WSC Luzin ). Otherwise, the lake is used for fishing.

Fauna

Common fish species include: eel, pike, walleye, perch, roach, ruffe, lead, tench and bleak, rarely crucian carp, bream, three-spined stickleback, carp, silver carp, and catfish before. As a crustacean is native to the lake of the American crayfish.
