Felipe Kitadai

Felipe Eidji Kitadai ( born July 28, 1989 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian judoka. He fights in the weight category up to 60 kilograms.

Career

Kitadai is a member of the club Sociedade de ginástica Porto Alegre ( SOGIPA ) and since 2008 a member of the Brazilian Judo National Team. In July 2009 he won the title at the Jogos da Lusofonia in Lisbon. The following year he won the World Cup in Rome, defeating these, only one triple Olympic gold medalist in judo, Tadahiro Nomura.

2011 and 2012 he won the Pan American Championships, 2011, the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012, he won - the day of his 23rd birthday - the bronze medal, but he already broke two days later as a result of a joke with friends. The IOC decided to request the National Olympic Committee of Brazil to replace the coin.
