Felix Pipes

Fritz Felix Pipes, also Piepes, ( born April 15, 1887 in Prague, † in the 20th century ) was a Czech- Austrian tennis player.

Pipes joined Olympic Games 1908 in singles and in doubles. In individual he lost in the first round against Oscar cruiser. In doubles, he was reported along with Arthur Zborzil and had in the first two rounds of a bye. Only in the quarter-finals for the first time the two had to compete and lost to the later Olympic Second James Parke and Josiah Ritchie from the UK.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm Pipes won the individual in the first round, but retired in the second round against the South Africans from Eric Tapscott. In doubles, he reached with Zborzil the final, where the two lost to the South Africans Charles Winslow and Harold Kitson on grass in four sets with 6:4, 1:6, 2:6, 2:6. The silver medal of Pipes and Zborzil is still the only Olympic tennis medal for Austria.

Dr. Felix Pipes was an active member of the company founded in 1902 Austrian Tennis Federation ( OTV ).
