Felix Schramm

Felix Schramm (born 1970 in Hamburg) is a German sculptor and photographer; He lives and works in Dusseldorf. The artistic works Schramm address the shift, which discusses the artists in different artistic forms within his work. He understands sculpture out of its dialectic, from which it generates its spatial forms ( installative spatial intervention, sculptures, collages ).

Work

After studying sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Italy and at the Art Academy Dusseldorf with Jannis Kounellis and Walther Nikkels spent time studying in Tokyo and at the Villa Massimo in Rome. The study of space and body has led to different approaches in Felix Schramm's sculptural work. The artist works in groups of works which he systematically divided by conceptual mapping.

The group "Intersection " means his sculptural spatial work with which he carries out translations in space. These are divided into the subgroups "spatial intersection" and "corporal intersection".

"spatial intersection" includes his room installations that undergo a reduction in the given space, describing a breakthrough in him: This spatial structure fall into the already existing and visualize sightlines along their surfaces and space edges that only appear through the insertion of the elements. The exhibition space will be transformed into a picture. Felix Schramm mostly works with industrially produced materials, but appear as an organic greenhouse in his space-forming processes.

"corporal intersection" describes Körperabformungen of different materials, from our model, the Schramm in part, or as a duplication or sculptural variation leads together.

The group " Multilayer" includes collages of photographs that has taken Felix Schramm of his sculptural work space. The broken, photographic material generated two-dimensional image spaces abstracted from crack edges and image surfaces in joining. The " multi-layer " refer to spatial work and operate at the same time independently on a pictorial level as spatial constructions.

The group " Accumulation " means work which different aspects of the individual groups of works by the artist combines: Various plastic techniques Schramms make out a spatial reference system. The space in the free-standing installations are circumambulatory and readable in a dramatic sequence. They act as a narrative organism, which in turn makes a setting within the room.

Felix Schramm discusses so in differentiated pictorial forms the shift: he regarded the whole thing in its re - combinable parts, including axles, the crack, the curvature, the possible orientation of the gaze, and the effect also - physically and symbolically - the interface. In Felix Schramm's sculptures and installations of the space around the object is seen as part of the space that describes the object. Schramm generates classification systems, the gain from the resolution of the ( architectural ) order their structure.
