Feliz Navidad (song)

Feliz Navidad ( "Merry Christmas ") is a modern Spanish Christmas song in Latin rhythm, which was written in 1970 by the Puerto Rican singer and guitarist Jose Feliciano. By his own admission Feliciano has composed the song in five minutes. Despite its simple structure ( three chords, 21 times and nine times Feliz Navidad I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas ) and a mixture of simple Spanish and English verses, it has developed in many countries to a popular Christmas carol. There are numerous edits and recordings of the song.

Feliz Navidad, año y felicidad próspero means " Merry Christmas, a successful year and happiness ", I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas, from the bottom of my heart " I wish you / you a Merry Christmas, with all my heart ."

According to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ( American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ) Feliz Navidad ranked at number 15 of the list of the 25 most popular Christmas songs of the United States.
