Feltham Urban District

The Feltham Urban District was a district in the metropolitan area of the British capital London. It existed from 1904 to 1965 and was in the south of the former county of Middlesex.

History

Feltham was originally a civil parish in the Harde ( hundred ) Spelthorne. As of 1894, the municipality was part of the Staines Rural District, has already been separated ten years later and formed its own Urban District. Was dissolved as the rest of the Staines Rural District in 1930, merged the formerly independent municipalities East Bedfont and Hanworth with Feltham, thus increasing the area almost tripled.

With the establishment of the administrative region of Greater London in 1965 was created from the merger of the Municipal Boroughs Feltham with Brentford and Chiswick and Heston and Isleworth the London Borough of Hounslow.
