The Fendt Caravan GmbH manufactures caravans and once belonged to Group Fendt.

History

Josef Dechentreiter founded in 1922 in Asbach- Baeumenheim based on a Lohndreschbetriebs a farm equipment factory. There especially threshers and later harvesters were produced. The company was known mid-1960s mainly by their loading wagon. With the participation of the company in 1963 and renamed in Lely Lely Dechentreiter Maschinenfabrik GmbH was started construction of caravans. In August 1970, the company went bankrupt unexpectedly.

The company was taken over by the tractor manufacturer Fendt. The production of the caravan went by that name on. In the meantime, also motorhomes were produced. Shortly after the sale of the company to the Fendt AGCO Corporation 1997, the caravan area was separated and sold to the hobby Wohnwagenwerk Harald Striewski GmbH. The production has now been moved to a newly built factory after Mertingen.

Meanwhile, campers will also, in addition to caravans, restored. However, these are not manufactured in the Fendt factory, but for hobby work.
