Production and representation

Fenobucarb, by reaction of 2 -sec- butyl phenol with phosgene to give 2 -sec- Butylphenolchlorformiat which react with methylamine to give the end product can be obtained.

Use

Fenobucarb is used as an insecticide in rice, sugar cane, tea, wheat and vegetables. Fenobucarb was and is not approved in the EU as an active ingredient in pesticides. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no plant protection products containing this active ingredient are allowed.
