Feo Aladag

Feo Aladag [ ala ː da ː ] ( born January 13, 1972 in Vienna; actually Feodora Aladağ, also acted under her birth name Schenk) is an Austrian actress, director and screenwriter.

Life

From 1990 to 1995 Aladag completed a drama school in Vienna and London. At the same time she studied psychology and communication studies at the University of Vienna. In 2000, she graduated in the promotion. From 1991 to 1993 she worked as a film critic. From 2003 to 2005 she attended the Master Class Directed by Michael Radford and Mike Figgis at the European Film Academy. From 2004 to 2005 she attended the seminars directed by Stephen Frears, Mike Leigh, Fernando Solanas, Bertrand Tavernier and Peter Lilienthal at the German Film and Television Academy in Berlin.

Aladag worked as a commercial film director and as a screenwriter, among others, for the crime scene. As an actress, she appeared in television movies and feature films. In 2005 she founded together with the director Züli Aladag the Independent Artists Filmproduktion. The first major production was the first directorial effort. In 2008, she turned together with Sibel Kekilli the feature film The Brave One. The film premiere was at the Panorama of the International Film Festival in Berlin. The film was awarded the German Film Award in Bronze and the price of the German Film Critics Best in the categories of feature film, best debut feature film and best screenplay. Sibel Kekilli was awarded the German Film Award for Best Actress. The stranger was proposed as a German contribution for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Her second feature film between worlds via the deployment of German troops in Afghanistan was invited to the competition at the Berlinale 2014.

Private

From 2002 to 2012 Feo Aladag was married to Züli Aladağ. She lives with her daughter in Berlin.
