Ferden seen from the south
Ferden ( Valais German: Färda ) is a municipality in the district west Raron in the German-speaking part in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
Geography
Ferden is in the lower Loetschental of Lonza, which is south of the village dammed the reservoir Ferden.
To Ferden heard the hamlet Goppenstein, where is located the south portal of the Lötschberg tunnel. Goppenstein is considered the gateway to Loetschental.
Since 2007 Ferden a UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau -Aletsch.
