Ferdinand Collmann

Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Collmann ( born October 9, 1762 in Berlin, † August 28, 1837 ) was a German painter and university professor.

Collmann was a pupil of Anton Graff. He was from 1821 to 1837 member of the Prussian Academy of Arts.

After initial study of theology, he went in March 1787 to Berlin to study at the Academy. In 1789 he became a teacher of drawing school, 1794 Professor same. He traveled to Italy in 1804, returned in the fall of 1807 but to his chair back to Berlin.
