Ferdinand Finne

Oscar Ferdinand Finne ( born October 12, 1910 in Kristiania, † 31 December 1999, Oslo) was a Norwegian painter, printmaker, theater decorator and writer.

Family

The parents were Finnes the lawyer Severin Finn and his wife Esther, daughter of Norwegian merchant Ferdinand Julian Egeberg.

Career

From 1935 to 1938 fin designed costumes at the Norwegian National Theatre. He continued his education as an artist during the Second World War, under the guidance of the Austrian expressionist painter Oskar Kokoschka in London. He then studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Arts in Oslo. He is the author of numerous articles and books on art-related topics. With several sculptural works he is represented in the Norwegian National Gallery.

Others

Finn was appointed by the King of Norway for his " versatile artistic work " to the Knight First Class of the Order of St. Olav. In his earlier days, he has become a member of the Masonic Lodge St. Olaus to the three pillars in Oslo.
