Ferdinand Frantz

Ferdinand Frantz ( born February 8, 1906 in Kassel, † 25 May 1959 Munich) was a German opera singer (bass - baritone, original bass).

He formed partly self-taught and made ​​his debut in 1927 in Kassel, sang from 1930 to 1932 in Halle ( Saale), from 1932 to 1937 in Chemnitz, 1937-1943 at the Hamburg State Opera, at that time mainly bass parts (Rocco, King Marke ... ). From 1943 until his death he sang at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, was next in 1949 guest performances, including at the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala and Covent Garden.
