Ferdinand Weerth

Ferdinand Weerth, Ferdinand aus'm Weerth called (* June 1, 1774 Gemarke ( Barmen, Wuppertal today ), † October 18, 1836 in Detmold ) was a German Reformed theologian and school reformers in lip.

Life and work

After studying theology Weerth was pastor from 1796 to 1805 in Kettwig. Weerth was called by Princess Pauline ( lip ) on December 16, 1805 in Detmold in the office of the General Superintendent of the Lippe Church and remained there until his death in 1836. Weerth was married and had five children. One of his sons was the writer George Weerth, another theologian Carl Weerth.

Reception

After Ferdinand Weerth Weerth the school and the Weerth Square were named in Detmold. In the square a memorial to him was placed in the form of an obelisk.
