Ferdinand Zvonimir von Habsburg

Ferdinand Zvonimir Habsburg-Lothringen (full name: Ferdinand Zvonimir Maria Balthus Keith Michael Otto Antal Bahnam Leonhard Habsburg-Lothringen, born June 21, 1997, Salzburg) is an Austrian racing driver. He is the son of Francesca and Karl Habsburg-Lothringen, the head of the family of the house of Habsburg. Ferdinand Zvonimir is the great-grandson of Emperor Karl I of Austria - Hungary.

Childhood and youth

On September 20, 1997, he was baptized by Cardinal Franjo Kuharić in Zagreb. His godparents are Georg Habsburg-Lothringen, Alois Konstantin zu Löwenstein -Wertheim -Rosenberg, Margarita Sakskoburggotski (wife of the deposed Tsar Simeon of Bulgaria) and Agnes Husslein. Ferdinand also received the traditional Croatian name Zvonimir ( after King Zvonimir of Croatia). This naming in a time of political instability in Croatia gave rise to speculation, but the Habsburg family denied all restoration efforts.

Ferdinand Zvonimir is an Austrian citizen. While his traditional title ( Prince Imperial and Archduke of Austria, Royal Prince of Hungary, Bohemia and Croatia) are used abroad and by the genealogical literature, he must not use these in Austria due to the needle lifting law. In Hungary, where the nobility was abolished in 1945, he joined motorsport race as Zvonimir Habsburg Ferdinánd.

Through its participation in funeral services to the death of his grandmother Regina of Saxe- Meiningen and his grandfather Otto von Habsburg was widely reported in the press.

Kart athletes

Ferdinand Zvonimir is active in karting. In 2012, he won the championship in the Rotax Max Junior in Lower Austria. 2013 he drove a race at the go-kart championships in Hungary and won the local championship of the Rotax Max Juniors. In the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals 2013, held in New Orleans from 13 to 16 November, he could after several knockout rounds to qualify for the final of the juniors and finished this on rank 10 in 2014 he is for the Austrian Lechner Racing compete in the Formula Renault 1.6 Northern European Cup.
