Ferdowsi University of Mashhad

The Firdausi University, Mashhad ( FUM ), also Ferdowsi University (Persian دانشگاه فردوسى مشهد ), is one of the largest universities in the province of Razavi Khorasan in Mashhad. The university is named after the great Persian poet and epic poet Abū ʾ l - Qāsim Firdausi. It was founded in 1949 and thus one of the oldest universities in Iran. It is with about 19,000 students, the largest university in the northeast of Iran.
