Ferdy Doernberg

Ferdy Doernberg ( born June 10, 1967 in Bad Hersfeld ) is a German singer / songwriter, keyboardist and guitarist who has been involved in numerous rock bands.

Life

Doernberg is the son of evangelical pastor, violinist and composer Martin Doernberg and philosophy teacher and author Dr. Gesine Doernberg. His musical career started Ferdy Doernberg in 1973 at the age of 6 years with piano lessons. A few years later, the instruments were added guitar and trumpet. The first band, participated in the Doernberg, was the local punk band The Wabbles before the band Rough Silk founded in 1989, with whom he has recorded to date eight albums and and opening for Helloween, Deep Purple, Saxon, Whitesnake another was seen. Doernberg is also a permanent member of the band Axel Rudi Pell, with whom he has recorded nine albums, and the ex- Scorpions guitarist Uli Jon Roth. His first solo album, he also published in November 1995, the second followed in 2000. 2006, he released his new solo album " ... 'till I run out of road", which finally established him as a singer / songwriter. Numerous solo concerts with acoustic and slide guitar, including the opening act for John Wesley Harding and Jeff Kollman, both guesting on the album, let him mature as a solo artist. In addition to his solid band engagements Doernberg is a sought-after on the rock scene but also a studio musician for keyboards and guitars ( particularly specialty: Slide and Lap Steel Guitar) and collaborated on more than 100 albums of various genres.

Doernberg lives in Lower Saxony Bad nominal village where he runs his own studio called Droehnwerk in which he has produced many albums of other musicians.

In the spring of 2011 Ferdy played with the former guitarist of the rock band Böhse Onkelz, Matt " Gonzo " Roehr, whose third solo album, " Thunder and Lightning ", a, after he had already participated in the single " For what it 's worth".
