Ferenc Bessenyei

Ferenc Bessenyei ( born February 10, 1919 in Hódmezővásárhely; † 27 December 2004 Lajosmizse ) was a Hungarian actor. He was honored with the Kossuth Prize and one of the twelve Hungarian actor of the nation.

His career began in 1940 at the Municipal Theatre of Szeged. After working in Miskolc and Pécs in 1950 he came to the Budapest National Theatre, where he played until 2000. Then he went still for a while ans Hungarian theater, also in Budapest, before he retired to his estate to his wife and his beloved horses.

He also appeared in a number of films, many of which were also shown in Germany.
