Ferenc Vozar

Vozar Ferenc (Hungarian Vozár ) ( born April 19, 1945 in Budapest, Hungary, † 15 February 1999 in Denzlingen ) was a German ice hockey player of Hungarian origin.

Vozar emigrated in the early 1970s from Hungary to Germany. He first played for the gaming community Oberstdorf / Sonthofen in the big leagues before he moved to Berlin Schlittschuhclub. With this he made the promotion to the Bundesliga.

Between 1977 and 1980 he played the ERC Freiburg and moved in 1981 to Hamburg, where he was active for three years. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1976 in Innsbruck, Austria, he helped the German national ice hockey team for winning the bronze medal by scoring two goals.

After ending his playing career Vozar launched a coaching career for the youth team. He was also in the mid- 1980s, head coach of the Baden-Württemberg Hockey Association. He was later inducted into the Hall of Fame of the German ice hockey.

Vozars sons Patrick and Robert, and his daughter Alexandra are also hockey players in Freiburg and Esslingen. His brother Tibor Vozar, also German national team, earning his living as a hockey coach.
