Feria Nacional de San Marcos

The Feria Nacional de San Marcos is the largest and most famous festival of Mexico, held in April in the city of Aguascalientes.

The festival lasts for four weeks, and is celebrated around April 25, the feast day of St. Mark. The celebration was for the first time in 1828 as cattle - oriented and grain market and 1958 collected by President Adolfo López Mateos to the rank of féria Nacionál. In the state of Aguascalientes are official holidays during the festivities. In addition to Mexican folklore especially the bull and cock fighting are popular.
