Fernando Gago (2010)
Fernando Rubén Gago ( born April 10, 1986 in Ciudadela, Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine football player. His position is central midfield.
Career
In the club
Fernando Gago started his footballer career at Club Social Parque before he joined the youth team of Boca Juniors. His debut in the first squad, he celebrated on 5 December 2004 compared Quilmes Atlético Club. In the season 2005/ 06 he won as a regular player in central midfield Boca all five titles ( Torneo Apertura, Torneo Clausura, Recopa Sudamericana twice, Copa Sudamericana ). Then various European clubs were aware of him. On 1 January 2007 he was transferred for a transfer fee in the amount of 20.5 million euros for Real Madrid. He made his debut in the 0-2 defeat against Deportivo La Coruña on 7 January 2007.
After playing only a minor role in the squad of the Royal for some time lent him to Real Madrid 2011/12 season to the AS Rome. Instead of returning to the Spanish capital after the season, Gago changed to the 2012/13 season to FC Valencia.
In the National Team
Fernando Gago won together with players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero the U20 World Championship in 2005 in the Netherlands. On 7 February 2007 he finally celebrated his debut against France in the Argentine national soccer team. Gago was part of the victorious Argentinean selection in the Olympic football Turniern 2008 in China.
