Fernando Llorente Torres, [ fernando tores ʎoɾente ], (born 26 February 1985 in Pamplona ) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Juventus in the Italian Serie A.

Club career

Llorente, although it came in Navarre Pamplona born and grew up in the hometown of his parents, Rincón de Soto in La Rioja, began his career in the youth of the local clubs FC Funes and CA River Ebro, before coming to the age of twelve in the summer of 1997 Athletic Bilbao moved. Before the start of the 2006/07 season Llorente extended his contract with Bilbao until 2011. He went into the season as the fourth striker Aritz Aduriz behind, Joseba Etxeberria and Ismael Urzaiz. This meant that he was only two times in the starting lineup this season and was able to achieve only two goals in 21 league operations.

His final breakthrough Llorente in the 2007/ 08 season when he was the top scorer of his club with eleven league goals and finally won a starting berth. In the following season he was able to increase its hit rate again; he met in 34 league games 14 times and reached the cup final Bilbao, which, however, they lost to FC Barcelona.

In the 2011/12 season he scored on 31 January 2012 at the semifinals of the Copa del Rey his 100th competitive goal for Athletic Bilbao. With another five goals in the Copa del Rey, as well as seven goals in the Europa League Llorente came in 53 competitive games on 29 goals and reached with his club in both cup competitions in the final.

At the beginning of the season 2012/13 declined Llorente from an extension offer from his end of the season expiring contract, after which several European top clubs expressed an interest in the Spaniard. However, Athletic Bilbao insisted on fulfillment of Llorentes contract. Then he eked out an existence as a supplementary and substitute and had a falling out with coach Marcelo Bielsa in the meantime. Beginning in December 2012 reaffirmed Llorente again, not wanting to extend his expiring contract. On January 24, 2013 it was announced that Llorente would free transfer move to the end of the season to the Italian first division club Juventus.

National team career

At the Junior World Cup 2005, he reached the quarterfinals with the Spanish U -20 team and was awarded at the end of the tournament as the second- leading scorer with a silver shoe. Llorente contributed to the group game against Chile ( 7-0 ) four times on the scoresheet, scoring a total of six goals, one fewer than top scorer Lionel Messi, who had three games longer disputed.

On 19 November 2008, he played his first international match for the Spanish national team in the 3-0 win over Chile, where he came on in the 57th minute. Already in the next game against England Llorente scored his first international goal, it was to make the score 2-0 late on.

At the Confederations Cup 2009, he was third with Spain. He participated in both group play as well in the match for third place against South Africa, but he scored in the first game the last goal to make it 2-0.

In 2010 he was appointed as a reserve player in the Spanish squad for the 2010 World Cup.
