Fernando Ocaranza Carmona

Fernando Ocaranza Carmona ( * 1876 in Mexico City; ibid † 1965) was a Mexican surgeon and rector of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México ( UNAM).

Life

Ocaranza, son of Ramón Ocaranza und'Antonia Carmona studied until 1900 at the Instituto Científico y Literario de Toluca, according to other sources might at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina. At the clinics, where he is said to have practiced include the Hospital Municipal de Guaymas, the Military Hospital and the Hospital de la Cruz Roja ( Red Cross Hospital ) and the Hospital General (Main Hospital ) from Mexico City. In 1901 he married Loreto Esquer. From the marriage of their son José Ocaranza Esquer came out, the doctor was also. In 1909 he was admitted as a specialist in surgery. I think he was director of the Instituto de Biología. From 1915 he lectured, was a professor of physiology at the Escuela Médico Militar and the Escuela Nacional de Medicina. At the latter he was from 1921 to 1923 and Secretary from 1924 to 1934 director. In addition, he was also a professor at the Escuela Nacional de Altos Estudios ( ENEA ). From November 26 1934 to September 17, 1935, he was rector of the UNAM. In 1945 he became a member of the first Board of the University UNAM. 1949 and received an Honorary Doctorate from the UNAM.
