Fernando San Emeterio

Fernando San Emeterio Lara ( born January 1, 1984 in Santander, Cantabria ) is a Spanish professional basketball player. He plays on the positions of the small forwards or shooting guard. He is currently with the Spanish club Caja Laboral under contract.

Career

Fernando San Emeterio started his career in the youth forum Valladolid. His league debut in the first team he celebrated on 29 September 2001 against Caja San Fernando. In summer 2006, he moved to Akasvayu Girona, with whom he could conquer the FIBA Euro Challenge 2006 /07. After two years in Catalonia San Emeterio went to the traditional club Saski Baskonia ( Caja Laboral ), with whom he celebrated many successes, including winning the Spanish Cup in 2009 and the Championship 2009/10. In the season 2010/11 he was chosen for its strong performances most valuable player of the Spanish League, and was also to be the best small forward part of the All- euro League First Team and the All- ACB team.

National

As a junior, Fernando San Emeterio took part with his country at the U-18 European Championship in Germany in 2002, but his team finished the tournament in ninth place.
