Fernando Sancho

Fernando Sancho ( January 7, 1916 in Zaragoza ( Spain), † 31 July 1990 in Madrid) was a Spanish actor.

Life

After his first film Orosia (1944 ) Sancho was primarily known for numerous roles in spaghetti westerns. He played mostly charismatic bandit Mexican origin. Also, in some Hollywood big budget productions Sancho appeared as a supporting actor, as in the epics King of Kings (1961) and Lawrence of Arabia (1962 ) and 55 Days at Peking (1963).

Sancho also played in four Karl May films: in the slave caravan (1958) and The Lion of Babylon ( 1959), both times as a Professor Ignaz Pfotenhauer, and 1965 in Through the wild Kurdistan and In the Realm of the Silver Lion as Padishah.

A year before his death Sancho was the last time in the horror film " La Luna Negra " (1989), starred opposite Mario Adorf. Sancho died from cancer. His son of the same was known as a composer.

Award

In 1973 he received the CEC Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film La Guerrilla of 1972.
