Fernando Yáñez de la Almedina (* 1480 in Ciudad Real, † 1526 in Valencia) was a Spanish painter of the Renaissance.

Life

Almedina worked with Fernando de los Llanos together and created with him twelve paintings on the life of the " Virgin " for the cathedral in Valencia ( 1506-1509 ). From the style of the two leads to the conclusion that one of them was the " Fernando spagnuolo " which was mentioned in 1505 as an assistant of Leonardo da Vinci in Florence. Almedina was highly regarded in Spain and was recently mentioned in a document in 1526; then he worked in Cuenca. Student of Almedina or Llanos was perhaps the previously known only with his Notnamen Master of Alcira.
