Fernelius (crater)

Fernelius is an impact crater in the southern lunar front side, southeast of Mare Nubium, northwest of the crater Stöfler whose edge he touches, and southwest of the emperor. The rim is eroded and is superimposed on the west side of the crater Fernelius A, the interior is largely flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 by the French physician and astronomer Jean François Fernel.
