Ferrari F399

The Ferrari F399 was a Formula 1 racing car, the Scuderia Ferrari started in the Formula 1 World Championship in 1999.

The Ferrari F399 was, as the F300, a design by Rory Byrne. It was not a new design, but improved in many details F300. The car got a new front wing, a new exhaust system and a revised V10 engine. In winter, Ferrari had changed the tire partner. Now the racing tires from Bridgestone were used.

The season was dominated by Michael Schumacher's serious accident at the Grand Prix of Great Britain at Silverstone. After fracture of the German Mika Salo came as a substitute in the team. Nevertheless, the Scuderia until the last race had the chance to both world title. Despite four wins this season, Eddie Irvine had to settle after the Japanese Grand Prix, with second place in the drivers' world championship behind Mika Häkkinen.

With the F399 but the Scuderia won the Constructors' title for the first time since 1983 again. 2000, the F399 was replaced by F1 -2000, the first Drivers' Championship import with the Schumacher since 1979.
