Ferruccio Ranza

Ferruccio Ranza ( born September 9, 1892 in Fiorenzuola d' Arda, Piacenza Province; † 25 April 1973 in Bologna ) was an Italian fighter pilot of the First World War.

Military career

Ranza was a pioneer officer in 1915 when he reached his transfer to the Air Force. After completion of the pilot training, he came first to a reconnaissance squadron. From 1916 he served in the Season of Fulco Ruffo di Calabria, he at times acted as squadron commander. Ranza were confirmed 17 personal victories. Shortly before the war, took over the command of the highly decorated Ranza 91st Fighter Squadron of Ruffo di Calabria.

After the war, Ferruccio Ranza remained in 1923 created as part of Force Italian Air Force. He commanded a squadron and Air Corps. He retired as a three -star general from active duty in January 1945.
