Fertile Crescent

Fertile Crescent ( from Engl. Fertile Crescent, introduced concept of James Henry Breasted, in Arabic according الهلال الخصيب al -Hilal al - chasīb called ) is the name for the, rainy winter rainfall area north of the Syrian Desert and the northern part of the Arabian Peninsula. This includes the Levant, Mesopotamia between the Tigris and Euphrates and the western Iran. To the south lie the inter-Arab arid areas of Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq, north of which the Southeastern Anatolia and the Zagros Mountains.
