Action

The film documents the Newport Folk Festival, which is held annually in Newport in Rhode Iceland. The focus is on from 1963 to 1967. To explain the special feature of this event, in addition to recordings of the songs and interviews with the performers and the fans are shown.

Criticism

Bosley Crowther was from the New York Times that the festival will effectively presented. However, it is annoying that the performers were not clearly identified for the viewers who are not so familiar with folk.

Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun- Times described the film as delightfully entertaining.
