FFHG Division 2

The Division 2, since 1972, the third- highest division in the French professional ice hockey. Above the Division 2 Ligue Magnus as a top division and the Division 1 are located as the second- highest game checkout. Among the Division 3 as the fourth level.

History

For the first time a hockey championship was played in the 1906/ 07 season in France. The addition of a second division took place for the season 1930/31 as the so-called 2e série the game started operations. In a third class one championship was played only twice in the years 1934 and 1935. With the subdivision of the 1re série the 1973/74 season in Série A and Série B, the third division was re-introduced. The introduction of the fourth division was finally 1986.

Today's Division 2 was established in 1972 under the name of 2e série. This she kept until 1978. During the following years, followed by several name changes. From 1978 to 1985 she was named National C, in the season 1985/86 National 3, from 1986 to 1990 Nationale 2, then to 1992 Division 2 and Division 3 to 1994 from the 1994/95 season were followed by the name of National 2, the was elected with the exception of the 1995/96 season as once again the name of Division 2, and 2001 had stock.
