FFHG Division 3

The Division 3 is since 1986 the fourth- highest division in the French professional ice hockey. Above the Division 3, the Ligue Magnus as a top division and the Division 1 are located as the second- highest and third-highest division 2 as a game checkout.

History

For the first time a hockey championship was played in the 1906/ 07 season in France. The addition of a second division took place for the season 1930/31 as the so-called 2e série the game started operations. In a third class one championship was played only twice in the years 1934 and 1935. With the subdivision of the 1re série the 1973/74 season in Série A and Série B, the third division was re-introduced. The introduction of the fourth division was finally in 1986 under the present name of Division 3

Mode

The Division 3 consists of four groups that make up regionally. Two groups of eight, the other two occupied by seven teams.

  • Group A: Ouest
  • Group B: Nord-Ouest
  • Group C: Nord-Est
