Ffotogallery

The Ffotogallery is the national agency for photography in Wales.

History

The Ffotogallery was founded in 1978 and is now located at two locations. Headquartered in the Chapter Arts Centre in the center of the capital, Cardiff, while the gallery in the Turner House is located in Penarth.

Gallery for current photo art

The Agency is a national organization and as such has an exhibition program with artists from Wales and the rest of the world. From the Ffotogallery there are also traveling exhibitions and collaborations with other organizations and galleries, as well as workshops.

The Ffotogallery also works with film and video, installation, digital media also play a role.

Important exhibitions

For major projects over the last three decades include the Valleys project, A470 and Barrage. Also works by photographers such as Keith Arnatt, Josef Koudelka, Peter Finnemore, Willie Doherty, Wendy McMurdo, John Davies, Catherine Yass and Bedwyr Williams. Some of these works are now in the national collections in Wales, or they have been acquired by the British Council and the Arts Council of Wales.
