FIAPF

The FIAPF ( Fédération Internationale des Associations de Producteurs de Films ) is an international industry association for film producer based in Paris.

Its members are national film producers associations in 25 countries worldwide. In Germany this is the Association of German Feature Film Producers, in Austria, the professional association of the Audiovisual and film industry and in Switzerland, the Association Suisse des Producteurs de Films.

Chairman of the FIAPF is since 2003 the Spanish film producer Andres Vicente Gomez.

Fields of activity

As influential non-governmental organization FIAPF has worked for organizations such as UNESCO and the World Trade Organization. Among their most urgent tasks they currently counts in the fight against copyright infringements in the film industry.

In addition, the FIAPF plays an important role as a regulator of international film festivals. Accreditation at the FIAPF is considered a benchmark for the international significance of a festival. 2006 are recognized twelve film festivals of the FIAPF. Accreditations are awarded in the following categories:

  • Film festival with competition (A- festivals)
  • Film Festivals with specialized competitions
  • Film festivals without competition
  • Documentary and Short Film Festival
