FIBA Africa Championship 1995

The basketball Africa Cup in 1995, the eighteenth basketball Africa Championship, took place between the 11th and December 18, 1995 held in Algiers, Algeria, which hosted the championship for the first time. Winner was Angola, which was able to defend his title and thus win the title for the fourth time in a row. In the finals, Senegal could be beaten.

In the Preliminary Round ( Group A and B) was played to five ( group A) or four ( group B) teams into two groups. Each team played against each other exactly once, so that each team exactly four (Group A ) or three games ( group B ) ( total of 16 games have been completed ) completed. Pro victory, there were two points for a defeat at least one point. The two highest point totals moved into the semi-finals. In case of equality of the Direct Comparison decided. In the semifinals played against Angola and Nigeria, Senegal against Algeria to the finals.
