FIBA EuroBasket 2007 qualification

The games in the Division A place from 31st August to 16 September 2006 and in August 2007 and served as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA EuroBasket 2007 in Spain. This could - in addition to the already qualified nine teams - seven teams qualify for the European Championship. The Division A includes the 16 best European national basketball team.

First qualifying round (Qualifying Round)

In the first qualifying round (A to D) was played in 4 groups. The four group winners and the two best runners-up qualify directly for the finals in Spain.

Second qualifying round (Additional Qualifying Round)

The 10 remaining teams ( two runners-up, all group third and fourth ) denied a Second qualifying round (Additional Qualifying Round). This was played out in three groups (A, B, C) in August 2007.

Additional Qualification Tournament (Additional Qualifying Tournament )

The three group winners from the second qualifying round played an additional qualifying tournament from 29 to 31 August 2007. The best team qualified for the Euro Basket 2007.

Relegation round ( Relegation Tournament)

The three group last of the Second qualifying round played from 29 to 31 August 2007 in the relegation round. The two worst teams were relegated to Division B.
