FIBT World Championships 2013

The 59th Bob World Cup was held from January 21 to February 5, 2013 in the Swiss ski resort of St. Moritz. Competition venue was the Olympia Bob Run St. Moritz- Celerina, the oldest bobsleigh rink in the world. After 1931, 1935, 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947, 1955, 1957, 1959, 1965, 1970, 1974, 1977, 1982, 1987, 1990, 1997, 2001 and 2007 St. Moritz was the 20th time hosting the Bobweltmeisterschaft.

St. Moritz was ( FIBT ) originally elected on 9 June 2008 by the held in Chianciano Terme Congress of the International Bobsleigh and Luge Federation to host the Bobsleigh World Cup in 2012. On May 31, 2009, Bob World Cup in 2013 was awarded to Lake Placid at the FIBT Congress in Moscow. The venues were, however, replaced in September 2010. The change was made for reasons of cost, since the end of the 2012/13 season a week of training on the Olympic track in Sochi is planned and incurred from Switzerland significantly lower transportation costs.

The teams consisted of one male and one female skeleton pilots as well as one male and one female Zweierbobteam. First launched the male skeleton pilot, then the Frauenbobteam, after which the female skeleton pilot and as a conclusion the bobsleigh team of men. Only one run was extended each which adds four individual runs for an overall result.
