Field hockey at the Pan American Games

The hockey tournaments of the gentlemen at the Pan American Games have been held since 1967. The ladies teams moved to 20 years later. Argentina is 8 out of 12 titles in the men's record title holder and has so far attracted one in all finals. In the women's Argentina reached six titles in seven tournaments. Five occasions had the U.S. women Argentina defeated before they succeeded in 2011, the first title. 1991 Canada lost the final against Argentina.

Gentlemen

The tournament has been dominated by record winner Argentina and Canada, who divided the previous tournament wins between them. Both teams faced off ten times over in the final. While Argentina has participated in all 12 finals, Canada participated in ten and lost only two semi-finals. The only other two final opponents Argentina were in 1967 in Winnipeg, Trinidad and Tobago, 1971 in Cali, Mexico.

Ladies

Six out of seven tournaments won by the Argentines in the final against the United States. First time in 2011 succeeded the U.S. women winning the title. In 1991, Canada to the finals. Besides the three aforementioned teams was present no further for tournaments.
