The Field Spaniel is one of the FCI (No 123, Gr. 8, sec 2) recognized British breed.

The dog breed Field Spaniel was originally developed from the Cocker Spaniel; he is up to 45.7 cm tall and 25 kg heavy. His hair is long, smooth, shiny and silky in texture, black, brown or liver roan, each of these colors with tan markings. The ears are moderately long and wide, set low and well feathered. As the Cocker Spaniel is also used of the Field Spaniel as a flushing dog and companion dog.
