FIL World Luge Championships 2013

The 43rd FIL Luge World Cup was held on 1 and 2 February 2013 Whistler Sliding Centre in Whistler, Canada, British Columbia.

The championships were awarded by the World Association FIL on 20 June 2009 at the 57th FIL Congress in Liberec at the single candidate, Whistler.

Successful team was Germany, who won eight of the twelve medals and doing all world title.

Women, single seater

Date: February 2, 2013

Geisenberger wins her first gold medal at a World Cup. Could not finish the first pass, the Slovak Viera Gburova and the Ukrainian Olena Shkhumova. the start record of 3348 seconds and the track record of 36.688 seconds shall put Geisenberger. For the first time in the women in a world championship race succeeded from the German team four starters in the top five to go.

Men, single seater

Date: February 1, 2013

Felix Loch won his fourth world championship gold medal. With Andi Langenhan and Johannes Ludwig also won two German silver and bronze. Track record took 48.133 seconds with Felix Loch, the start record of 6.930 seconds reached Ludwig.

Two-seater

Date: February 1, 2013

For the double Tobias Wendl / Arlt Tobias, it was claimed the silver medal in 2008 the first world champion title of your career. They also brought the start & track record.

Team Relay

Date: February 2, 2013 Geisen Berger, Hole, Wendl and Arlt presented with 2:03,826 minutes on a new track record.
