Filago

Filago is a municipality in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region Lombardy with 3168 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012).

Geography

Filago located 12 km southwest of the provincial capital of Bergamo and 35 km northeast of the city of Milan.

The neighboring municipalities are Bonate Sotto, Bottanuco Brembate, Capriate San Gervasio, Dalmine, Madone, Osio Sopra and Osio Sotto.

Attractions

  • The parish church of Filago is dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and San Rocco and dates from the 16th century.
  • The church of Our Lady of Lourdes in the 16th century.
  • The remains of the ancient Ponte Corvo.
  • The Castello di Marne was destroyed in the 15th century, however, the castle was rebuilt a few years later by the family Avogradi.

Economy

Bayer maintains a location in Filago, who was the first Italian chemical park received a certification to EMAS II by its own account. Are produced crop protection products and plastics.
