Filet lace

Tenderloin ( filet of French = yarn, network) referred to in the textile industry a latticework (also: filet tulle ).

The filet tulle denotes a tulle with approximately square openings and is usually suitable for embroidery. It consists of three different thread groups: the stationary threads, the pattern threads and the warp threads. The skeleton form (also called warps ) in certain intervals parallel filler threads. These run along the pattern threads, created the square holes of the tulle through their change from one warp to another. The binding threads connect the warp threads with the pattern threads and thereby give the tissue support. In historical embroideries, the network is knotted from a continuous thread. In German-speaking countries the term filet crochet is also used for crocheting curtains, window frames or borders.
